New Worlds
by
Bob MacKenzie

Come to me
Adelita.
What new worlds are hidden in your eyes?
I Magellan, who seek you in my circuit,
I love you,
I love you so!

My islands
Shine in your eyes.
'Round the world I have sailed upon their waters:
In their fire I have found eternal beachhead.
Brave new world,
I love you so!

I wonder what spear waits me on these shores
Oh hear the drumming wind.
Magellan, I shall claim this beach of yours
For you are my Cebu.

Raise my standard over your mountains;
place my body deep within your hills;
Magellan,
I come to you.
