We Are A Bird
by
Bob MacKenzie

We are a bird,
You and I are a bird,
Yes, a bird on the wing
Flying from sunrise to dark deeply shadowed,
And the plain between.

We are a bird,
You and I in the sky,
We, a bird in the sun
Flying from forest to hills barely wooded,
And the plain between.

We are a bird,
You and I oh so high,
West and east in us meet
Flying from outside to meet lifetimes inside,
And the plain between.

We are a bird,
How we fly you and I,
Bird and bird and bird end
Flying from lifetimes to new lifetimes somewhere,
And the plain between.
